I am trying to compile the last module of midgard (www.midgard-project.org) (of 4), and cannot get through configure. Configure fails with:

./configure: no such file or directory: PHP_ARG_WITH(midgard, for midgard support,\n --with-midgard{=/path/to/midgard-config} Include Midgard support) [1188]
configure: error: midgard-config not found. Did you install midgard-lib?

I installed the midgard-lib and the midgard-config file is there.

When I place the path to midgard-config into the configure file, then configure fails to see any of the external function (?) calls in the configure file. Such as:

./configure: no such file or directory: PHP_ADD_INCLUDE(/usr/include/httpd) [1278]
./configure: command not found: PHP_EVAL_INCLINE( [1280]
./configure: no such file or directory: PHP_EVAL_LIBLINE(-L/usr/local/lib [1281]
./configure: command not found: PHP_SUBST(MIDGARDCONFIG) [1284]
./configure: command not found: PHP_SUBST(MIDGARD_SHARED_LIBADD) [1286]

These PHP_ functions seem to be in a separate file, but they are n ot beeing 'seen' by configure. This file is in the same directory as configure and all the source files. Any idea why this wouldn't work in OS X?

Any ideas appreciated.
