i have built xmms and its many dependencies (esound, libmikmod, libogg, libvorbis, glib, gtk, libxml and dlcompat), but i am running into an issue where after launching xmms it does not load any of the plugins (input, output, visual et cetera). xmms-config properly indicates the input plugin directory via --input-plugin-dir (which is readable by my user) but xmms fails to load them when launched. i am unable to add any files to the playlist (since xmms does not recognize them) and the preferences do not list any plugins -- no error messages are spit out to the console.

i configured with '--without-gnome' if that is of any help.

any ideas?
