I'm new to OSX (running 10.2.4) and i'm trying to compile some software but the /usr/include directory seems to be missing most of the standard unix include files and I can't find how to install them

I've run the installer for the developer tools in /Applecations/Installers/Developer Tools, gcc, make and other tools were installed but not the includes.

any help woul be greatly appreciated..
