Ok, so ncurses seems to be installed all nice and tidy, I've looked through and it all appears to be exactly where it shoudl be... problem is it doesnt actually make "pretty" output.

It won't run with color or extended characters.. either in ettercap or in the "test" applications they provide. It runs, its just ugly and monochrome.

I tried changing the $TERM variable using setenv, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Any ideas?

All help is greatly appreciated.

I use the ncurses library for BitchX and it seems to provide me with ANSI color just fine. Try running ettercap via screen.
