ok, so i successfully install and test the MacOS X port of XFree86 (v4.1.0) on my PowerBook G3/500 running MacOS X 10.0.4 this past Friday. i use it all day displaying all sorts of applications from my Sun Solaris boxes. it was flawless. great job on the port! now, it is monday morning. i go to use XFree86 again, it launches, i get the three windows inside the X environment i got on friday (2 xterms, and 1 login). however, when i put the cursor in any of the windows nothing happens when i type. it's like it doesn't read the keyboard while inside the X environment anymore. what the hell? please help.

That's known problem on portables. See the XonX FAQ or Fink's X11 documentation (the part you're looking for is here)
