I have good news for those of you still having problems running enlightenment. I have been able to test e on a new development box to find the problems, and have fixed them.
You will need to install this package: http://macosx.forked.net/ports/enlightenment-deps-0.16.5.pkg.tgz

Here is a step-by-step guide:

1) Install the enlightenment package.

2) Install enlightenment-deps package.

3) Make sure /usr/X11R6/bin and /usr/local/bin are in your $PATH. ( http://macosx.forked.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=2&t=000001 )

4) Start Xfree86 (Xdarwin)

5) Start enlightenment

I can't get the enlightenment-deps package to install. It reports an odd error right before it starts writing files and then tells me to close the window and try to reinstall. I installed the enlightenment package (with all the libraries) and cannot get the enlightenment-deps package to install no matter how much I try to reinstall. Any suggestions?

BTW, here's the error message from my CONSOLE...

quote:

Installer[1016] -[NSInstallQueue handleException:]. Exception NSInvalidArgumentException, *** -[NSCFDictionary setObject:forKey:]: attempt to insert nil value, (null)

Ditto here with the installer problems - the package quits with an error that I didn't catch...10.1, logged in as Admin user, authenticated install package with password.
