I'd like very much a port of jed, a very good CLI and X editor.

Thx a lot.

P.S. You can find the sources here:

Done. The problems were related to a broken Makefile and an odd compilation dependent on slang files that must be in a specific location.

First of all, i would like to thank you for your port.

Unfortunately, i have installed your package and i only get running the "xjed" command on the X environment.

The "jed" command doesn't work.. it seems that no support of input keyboard. I'm looking for the same problem in google, and i have found a post in a forum:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jed-users/message/1596

The problem seems to be in an error on the slang libraries compilation.

Could you verify, please, that input keyboard is accepted on the cli environment of "jed"?

Thanks for all.

I haven't tried that app yet. I looked on the message board and it seems like there might also be a termcap problem. If you installed X manually you would have seen a message indicating that you should edit termcap in /usr/share/misc/termcap to replace xterm entries with the ones in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/etc/xterm.termcap
You can probably just do this with env for tcsh if you don't want to mess with the termcap file. I'll take a look through the posts when I get more time
