Are you running rootless with a window manager?
Did you get ANY errors in your configuration, make, or make install? Or did you download a binary distribution?
Did you look at the porting tips on that page? (you may need a stub)

BTW: I've seen a few "finished" ports there that are nothing more than reversions and won't do what they're supposed to.

The one I saw in the CVS was this

code:

Port: bsdi-netscape-navigator-4.75
Path: /usr/ports/www/bsdi
netscape47-navigator
Info: Netscape Navigator with 128-bit
encryption for BSDI BSD/OS
Maint: trevor@FreeBSD.org
Index: www
B-deps: XFree86-3.3.6_6
R-deps: XFree86-3.3.6_6 netscape-remote-1.0
netscape-wrapper-2000.07.07

Did you find one using the 4.1 build of xfree?

Jason,

I dloaded the version of Xfree86 from here - andalso I dloaded windowmaker from here. I downloaded FreeBSD's version of netscape from netscape.com (V 4.76) - I didn't get any errors during installtion..but when I'd execute the binary it wouldn't run. it gave an error. soo I am unsure of what i've done wrong.

Hmmnnn. I can't seem to find the netscape source code. I could find the required additional components from freshmeat. The distribution is here ftp://ftp.netscape.com/pub/communicator/english/4.76/unix/unsupported/freebsd/complete_install/communicator-v476-us.x86-unknown-freebsd.tar.gz but I think it'll probably be mozilla for the source code unless someone else finds it.
