I got the basic ftp server working-
all that was needed was to comment out:
#ifdef OLD_IP_STACK
in ipv4stack.c

then a ./configure & make & make install
works...
but I can't get pureftp-who working!

pure is at: http://pureftpd.sourceforge.net/
