here's a package containing stuff like a BSD netstumbler and airsnort(make sure to remind people that they need specific cards to use airsnort and lucent cards don't work)
http://www.dachb0den.com/projects/bsd-airtools/bsd-airtools-v0.1b.tgz

this will help cure my netstumber for windows envy as well as ease the pain of having to keep clicking and clicking and clicking airport to see if there's a wireless network there or not.

thnx

such as iw-scan(linux) http://students.washington.edu/rlotz/swn/iw-scan/

or freestumble
http://www.UiX.com/freestumble/

and other stuff

keep up the excellent work

talked to h1kari(the maintainer) and he's trying to get it working but has some problems with overwriting darwin's NetworkInterface ioctl handler, so if anyone had information on this, please sent it his way(link above)

Again, just wondering if any momentum has happend on this pkg? It would be very nice to have something to sniff the airwaves. I don't know if anyone I know with a linux laptop isn't using either this or airsnort.

I was wondering if there has been any sucess with airtools and MACOSX , I would appreciate any help or some direction . I just upgraded to MAC OSX.2 , and installed the development CD which contains gcc.

[MANNYS-G4-TITANIUM:~] manuelpl% gcc -v
Reading specs from /usr/libexec/gcc/darwin/ppc/3.1/specs
Thread model: posix
Apple Computer, Inc. GCC version 1151, based on gcc version 3.1 20020420 (prerelease)

Any help is appreciated
