please see if you could compile tcpdump for OS 9/X

you haven't tried much with this one, have you? first, macosx comes with tcpdump [/usr/sbin/tcpdump]. it might be part of the developer tools, i don't know, but it's there. it reports version 3.6, but so does the newest [3.6.2]. second, if you download the source [search www.freshmeat.net], it will configure, make, and install just fine, so long as you have libpcap installed.
