actually, the audio decoder works just fine in MAD, but the included program "madplay" doesn't work, simply because it doesn't know where to send it's stream.

This has got to be a trivial port (a single change to a header file) but i just don't know what to put into it, because Macos X doesn't seem to have something like /dev/audio to point it to.

mad doesn't have any external dependencies so it should build/install with configure; make; sudo make install;

again ports available from darwinports and fink.
