I would love some basic help in getting this package to work! Looking at the Cyrus HOWTO from the Linux Documentation Project just leaves me confused, as there are more questions raised than answered in terms of making it work on Mac OS X...Trivial example: Linux DP's Cyrus IMAP HOWTO (section 7) suggests editing /etc/syslog.conf to add lines for logging, with the log files being located in /var/adm/ (imapd.log & auth.log). Mac OS X likes to keep logs in /var/log/ - but do I have to stick with /var/adm/ due to how the package is compiled? Can I change these lines to use /var/log/? Non-trivial example: The examples in Linux DP's configuration for Cyrus IMAP talk about the sasl_passwd_check options, but I'm not sure which one to use in terms of what's been compiled or included in the package... The error I currently get when I run imtest is: <prompt>imtest -m login -p imap localhost connect: Can't assign requested address failure: Network initialization Help! And thanks!
