I'd like to know how you got mpg123 compiled.
I managed to get the "make generic" target to compile, but it didn't seem to have sound support.
what i'm trying to fix is a pause every 30 seconds in the audio output when mpg123 reads a file from a burned cd. (and the -b buffer option gives an error about unable to write to file. now that i think about it, the OS should be in control of this, not the application... hmmm)

either use the path from the mosx-mpg123 sourceforge project, or build/install esound and use that for output (requires makefile patch to add an esd on darwin target)
as usual, mpg123 port available from darwinports and fink...
